PHILOSOPHY

*I only consider requests from those who have a completely filled out profile--for example under music and book preferences, don't just say all kinds or all--the profile is one way I decide if a surfer is serious about the philosophy of couchsurfing and the importance of cultural exchange. A lame profile signals you are only looking for a quick crash.
I WILL IMMEDIATELY DECLINE A SURFER WITHOUT A 100% FILLED OUT PROFILE.

**I only consider requests within a month of arrival date. Not 2 months, not 10 weeks, etc before. Some people have asked me in March for July for example. NO.

****Surfers should plan to arrive BEFORE 8 pm. Sorry, but we start work at 5 a.m. If you tell me at the last minute, for example "my flight arrives at 10 pm" be prepared to spend that first night at a hotel or hostel. Thanks for understanding.

**We have accepted surfers for long-term stays when they are pursuing English language classes at Truman College, down the street from us. If this option is of interest to you and your purposes for being in Chicago we can discuss this further.
