ABOUT ME

I grew up on a dairy farm in a town about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver. I moved to Vancouver to go to university and went on exchange to New Zealand for a year. I also like sailing and have crewed on sailboats in random places around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Three passengers who are sitting together for a train ride in Northern Scotland decide to look out the window and they see a field with a cow in it. The cow is standing with only one side of the cow facing the train, the side that is facing the train is white with black patches. The first passenger remarks,
"Well we now know that all cows in Northern Scotland are white with black patches." The second passenger speaks up,
"Actually, what we know is that some cows in Northern Scotland are white with black patches." The third passenger, and the smartest of the lot no doubt, sat up and stated,
"I must say that all we really do know for certain is... there is at least one cow in one field in Northern Scotland, that of which has at least one side that is white with black patches, for certain."

I hosted travellers while I was living in Vancouver but now that I'm in Sydney, NS, I don't have the ability to host anyone :(

I've couchsurfed a couple times before and had great experiences. Really wish I had been doing this more before!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some movies I have always liked are Forrest Gump and Happy Gilmore. On tv I end up watching stuff like 30 Rock, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Glee, and The Office.
As far as music I pretty much like everything but I feel the following are a notch above the rest: Neil Young, Miike Snow, Adele, Counting Crows, Lady Gaga, Joni Michell, Coldplay, Modest Mouse, Billy Talent
