About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live in spirit that's direct and real.

ABOUT ME

Start the day drinking in sunshine with an outdoor
sunrise meditation, then go for a walk, enjoy some yoga.
The more I'm outdoors, the more in touch with spirit I feel. I'm really giving attention to all my interactions with people, so that my empathy and intuition are completely present.
I'm noticing that the more I let go, and the more I surrender to the great unknown mystery that I'm
swimming in, the more connected I feel, the more love I feel.

PHILOSOPHY

Be of service to others.
Pay attention.
Notice the unbroken string of miracles that
permeate my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a lovely home that's like a sanctuary, and our whole community here enjoys having lots of couch surfers stop by (or sometimes stay and move in!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travel to art shows on the west coast, and so can connect with people about the art they like to
participate in. I'll also travel to go to Yoga workshops and will take that opportunity to surf someone who I can practice a bit of interpersonal relationship yoga (I just made that up!)

Interests

Digging in the dirt, outdoor yoga, playing games of imagination with children, stillness, anything on or near water, singing kirtan, singing anything, playing flutes or drums, getting lost in the woods, soaking in hot springs.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to read science fiction, now it's mostly poetry, or yoga and budhist books. I've gotten more rthan knee deep in the writings of Rudolf Steiner, but what do you expect, I'm a Waldorf teacher. I am being transformed by his writings though. For a change I'll read someone more modern and I like spiritualists who are really simple and straight forward. Poonja Ji is right on, so are Pema Chodron and Adyashanti.
I'll listen to a really wide variety of music, but what I buy is mostly chanting and really authentic world folk music.
A few books that changed my life - Wake Up and Roar, Passionate Presence, The Power of Now, Non-violent Communication, all of Adyashanti's books.
I rent movies hoping to be inspired, and turn away DVDs that have a gun or big boobs on the cover.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen someones soul.
I notice little blessings happening around me, and occasionally miracles.
Been held lovingly by a child.
Recognized a beloved inside of me,
recognized myself in a beloved.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bunch of Native American chants. I love sharing partner yoga, and improv music.
I also like to have fun at playgrounds with my children and friends children.
