About Me

Hello!

My name is Chinyere and I am currently living in Taiwan teaching English. I'm taking some time off at the moment to travel southeast Asia and get to know my host country.

My interests include the basics like cooking, hiking and camping. I'm pretty into finding new ways to save the environment specifically through recycling and vegetarianism/veganism. Some of my college tendencies haven't quite left me, so I'd say I still enjoy going out for drinks with my friends throughout the week and weekend. I love having the opportunity to spend time with the local people in the country I'm visiting in order to have the best experience possible learning the local culture.

As for being a guest, I respect the space that is given to me and try to contribute as much as possible as a guest in someone else's home. I love the connections you make staying in hostels and using Airbnb, so I would like to start using Couchsurfing after great reviews by friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to meet people who are able to share the perspective of a resident in the country I'm visiting. I also want to be able to share my experiences with people hoping to travel to places that I'm familiar with. Traveling for me recently has been all about creating new memories and crossing paths with people from all walks of life. I love looking for new adventures and having new adventures make surprising appearances.

I'm looking for hosts who don't mind showing me around occasionally and possibly throwing in some extremely touristy activities. I'm pretty open to suggestions while traveling and taking chances for overall experience.

In the next few months I hope to become a host once I become a little more familiar with Taiwan. I want to be able to show people the beauty of the country that I've been fortunate enough to live in and explore as well as having first time experiences myself.

Interests

I've always been someone who owns a lot of "stuff" because of thrift shopping. I started off pretty young and haven't been able to shake it. Traveling hasn't allowed me to buy as much as I've wanted due to space, but jewelry is something that doesn't require a lot of luggage space. I never forget where I buy my jewelry and the stories surrounding them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the reasons that sparked my desires to travel happened when I was an au pair during high school in a small town in Germany. Traveling alone at 17 gave me a little boost in believing I could be a solo traveler.
