About Me

Hello, my name is Chip Baker. My mom was a flight attendant and I have always loved travelling. I love the mountains and the beauty of nature. As I have grown older I have learned about seeing history through architecture. History is not just something you read in a book. It is something that you can see when you visit an area and feel when you talk to local people. It can be a way to understand culture and have a better time visiting cool places. I frequently travel just to learn what I can about the places I visit. Its great to leave a place knowing a bit more than I did when I came in about why it is a significant location. There's no better and easier way to travel on a budget than crashing on someone's couch for a few nights. It's a free place to sleep and a free guide who knows a bit about the local area. Can't beat it right?

Best Wishes!

Chip Baker

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite bands currently are Vampire Weekend and The Disco Biscuits. I like a lot of electronic music too as well as bluegrass. Really, I like all genres of music. I play guitar myself. My last favorite band was Phish, but they always play too much off the new albums at shows. Most of my favorite literature is pre 1980. I like philosophy and other non-fiction the best, but have a few classic favorite fiction novels. As far as movies go I cant always remember all the movies ive seen, but there are very very few I dont enjoy. At present favorite movie is The Shining. I like any and all movies that really make you think!
