About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to take a walk on the wild side ... and write a book

ABOUT ME

This year will be my first time overseas by myself! I'm very open to new experiences and places and curious about the world's secrets.

I'm at university studying journalism and international studies but am taking the year of to travel and sort out what I want from my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a newbie but hopefully surf and host in the future

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very little as of yet but I've heard heaps and hope to have lots and lots of experiences with it!

(I have so far met for drinks/dinner in Adelaide with Marten from Germany)! :)

Interests

Being active (playing/watching sport especially swimming - I'm an ex-swimmer, running, winter sports, hockey, basketball, soccer etc), music, live concerts and singing even though I’m a terrible singer :)

I also love reading and learning about different cultures and history and interesting conversations about anything and everything. I’m interested in international politics, language, the media and things of the spirit (I am not religious but find the concept of religion interesting).

Photography, the beach, the river (water sports = bring it on), cooking and eating. I love to have fun and chill out with fun, funny, interesting people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: (too many to write here so I'll just jot down my favourites) Bob Dylan, Bloc Party, The Rolling Stones, Missy Higgins, John Butler Trio, The Killers, Mumford & Sons, AFI, Beth Orton, Leonard Cohen and heaps more - I have a very diverse range.

Books: (again, too many) but favourite authors include Phillip Pullman, Gustave Flaubert, Simone de Beauvoir, Isobelle Carmody, Geraldine Brooks and more.

Movies: Hot Fuzz, Love Me if You Dare, Zoolander, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Sherlock Holmes, Tropic Thunder, Romeo and Juliet (Baz Luhrmann), Hoodwinked, Waitress ...

TV: Seinfeld, Family Guy, Dexter, Desperate Romantics, Scrubs, Little Britain, Chaser's, Shameless, Monarch of the Glen, Monk, Vicar of Dibley, The Office, Wild at Heart, Worst Week of my Life, Green Wing (!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can introduce you to Australian music (which is AMAZING!) and other fantastic bands/singers and I can teach you how to swim (I can be a personal trainer on land too :P). Hopefully I can also become a friend of yours - and everyone knows you continue to learn from and grow with a friend for your whole life... so it's a good long-term investment.

I would love to learn anything anyone has to offer - like I said above, I am open to new ideas and experiences - show me your world!

I'd like to come away with less inhibitions, greater understanding of myself and other people and arrive home wiser. (And if you can teach me how to tell stories about my travels in an interesting way that would be a bonus!)

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom
