Overview
About Me
I've been in Portland since 2015, running my chiropractic yoga therapy practice. Over the next few years I intend to collaborate with other guides and healers to create more group experiences, leading workshops for interpersonal connection, spiritual growth and social healing on all levels. See my profile on Linked In for even a bit more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed up for couch surfing in 2010, as I loved the concept immediately. However, I was not at all cyber oriented and I didn't really get into it. In 2016, I met up with a couple of CSers on a trip to Maui and stayed with a CS host in Tahoe - who hosted me two years in a row to enjoy the same music event! Reading the CS site in detail, I am SO on board with the CS values - As I have lived in yoga communities, I'll say that living these CS values together makes the world into the one big ashram we all share! In Spring of 2019, I had the great pleasure of couch surfing in Europe for the first time, and I even had the honor of staying in Barcelona with the family of one of the surfers I had hosted in Oregon, who had continued to travel the Americas. Meeting people of kindness and connecting worldwide is what it's all about!
Interests
The above I have described :)
I also love music, especially live jam bands! I love to sing and dance. I wish I played an instrument better than I do, but I can strum a guitar with some rhythm, and it would be cool to learn how to read music and play piano eventually... I am an avid outdoorsperson: hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, cycling, paddling. I'd love to crew more sailing. I'd like to cycle Europe at some point, using CS, so I'd love to meet travelers in Portland and spend some time enjoying the outdoors with you!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - JAM BANDS. I enjoy jazz. I'm happy to check out anything, but my dear love are acoustic players that can improvise AND plug in... I was a deadhead in the late 80s-- what can I say?
RBG, Hidden Figures, Bohemian Rhapsody, Vice.
- I love the podcasts OnBeing, Stay Tuned with Preet.
Novels: the Outlander series and I love everything I've read by Diana Gabaldon. Richard Powers’ Overstory.
Tyson Yunkaporta’s Sand Talk, Tobin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. Maya Angelou, Angela Davis. Anand Ghiridharadas's Winners Take All —explains why my generation left Greta Thunberg's generation in the untenable reality we face. Time for the global neighborhood to convene the climate "manhattan project,” featuring social healing and innovation to serve nature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
ok - 2 -
I swam with wild dolphins from the island of Bimini, the Bahamas.
WildQuest - the owners/operators have incredible free-dive skills & gentle spirit. They respect the wildness of these magnificent creatures so highly.
I took my sister to swim with the spinner dolphins off of the Kona coast, Hawaii. During whale calving season we were graced with whale song as well. Last time I was in Kauai a pod swam by my boat off of Kapaa- so magical!
I sat a 10 day silent Vipassana - an amazing opportunity to be curious and courageous. An interior deep dive!
