About Me

Hi! I’m Jeff (姐夫), a dreamer and explorer from Kaohsiung, Taiwan 🇹🇼. I’ve just completed a one-year student exchange program in Esslingen (near Stuttgart), Germany, and recently returned to Taiwan. I’ll be heading back to my hometown, Kaohsiung, in mid-March — and I’m excited to start hosting again on Couchsurfing.

For me, traveling has never been just about seeing new places. It’s about discovering who I truly am through every encounter and every story. I come from a single-parent family and have worked hard to create my own opportunities. During my college years, I constantly pushed myself beyond limitations — applying for scholarships, volunteering abroad, and seeking growth in every possible way. I was fortunate to receive several national recognitions, including being nominated for the Presidential Education Award for three consecutive years and being named a National Model of Good Deeds.

But over time, I’ve realized that titles and achievements can quietly become expectations. People sometimes see the awards before they see the person. That pressure taught me something important: I am not defined by any title. I am human. I can be vulnerable, uncertain, joyful, and imperfect — and still be enough.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been volunteering across Southeast Asia — Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and the Philippines. Working with local schools and NGOs, I supported children in rural communities through teaching, playing, and simply sharing life together. Those experiences shaped my worldview deeply. I didn’t just give — I received resilience, kindness, and perspectives that changed me forever.

After a year in Europe filled with growth, friendships, and unforgettable memories, I’m now returning to Taiwan with a fuller heart and a broader horizon. As I settle back into Kaohsiung, I would love to share my beautiful hometown with travelers — from night markets and harbor sunsets to meaningful local stories you won’t find in guidebooks.

I love nature, deep conversations, handwritten postcards, and discovering beauty in everyday moments. Human connection means everything to me — that’s why I’m here on Couchsurfing.

If you’re open-minded, kind, and curious about Taiwan (and life), let’s share stories, explore Kaohsiung together, and maybe inspire each other along the way 🫶🌍
