About Me

Enjoy sharing space and time with open minded people!

Originally from the States, I left home at 18 and spent a year in Cambodia. Open and closed doors brought me to New Zealand. I've been in Wellington for 4 years and love it more every single day. After recently starting the 9-5 grind, I got super itchy feet and decided to take 2 months off to walk bits of Te Araroa starting 2 October.

I believe in the healing powers of nature and the science of walking and am looking forward to experimenting with both of these things on myself.

I’m hoping on this walk I can allow myself to be fully vulnerable and feel the warmth from the kindness of strangers and in due time return that. I have hosted officially and unofficially dozens of couch surfers in Stewart Island and Wellington and am looking forward to doing more c surfing myself ☺️

I’m open and adaptable to situations and love connecting with people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How can we continue to grow if we are not letting new people into our lives???

Interests

I love walks off the beaten track, collecting sea glass, petting dogs, cats and hamsters, strumming the guitar while my friend does all the hard work and am in constant search of new hobbies. I surround myself with beautiful art, music, and people- but fail, personally, in all three categories 😉

Music, Movies, and Books

Have re-watched every episode of Black Mirror at least twice. Huge fan of dystopian books. Recently fall asleep after the first 15 minutes of every movie.... working on that. Documentaries for days! Ru Paul's Drag Race! Handmaiden's Tale! Game of thrones!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I killed a guinea pig in Peru with my barehands, ate it..... and then became vegan three years later... I’m very open-minded about conscious living and eating. To each is own!

Teach, Learn, Share

What I lack in talent, I make up for in good stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

An open mind, a big hug, and any help you may need around the house ☺️
