About Me

Hi everyone! I am Chloe, a sophomore student at Stanford University!

In the year of 2022, I took a gap year and hitchhiked from North Arctic to South Antarctica, from Alaska to Argentina. Then I traveled across African continent. I hitched 120+ rides last year, including ambulances, motorcycles, trucks, campervans, and even trusty tractor.

In 2023, I “ traveled across Europe-Asian continent.

Freedom is one of the strongest passions in our life. Traveling, for us, is akin to glimpsing the world through the eyes of the divine, a sacred vantage point from which the entirety of our wondrous Earth can be beheld. From the peaks that touch the sky to the depths of the boundless sea, We embrace the awe-inspiring grandeur of our planet. Equally captivating are the lives that weave the intricate fabric of humanity—people from every walk of life. In my quest to unravel the inner workings of society, I aspire to bring humanitarianism to those dwelling on the fringes of our collective consciousness.

I love art. My passion knows no bounds as I explore various forms of painting and engage in the creation of handicrafts. As a wielder of the camera’s lens, I am enchanted by the power to capture fleeting beauty in a single immortalizing flash. The culinary arts, too, hold a special place in my heart, for within the act of cooking, life itself is made tangible, and transformed into a masterpiece. Since the age of 13, I have been learning to cook Chinese cuisine. Having lived in China for 18 years, specifically in Hunan, the south-central region, I possess expertise in Xiang cuisine. This culinary tradition is renowned for its hot and spicy flavors, fresh aromas, and vibrant colors.

Since 2018, I have embraced my role as a global citizen and an unwavering advocate for feminism, dedicating myself wholeheartedly to the pursuit of social activism. During the pandemic, I raised 149.26K USD to purchase and donate protective clothing to three hospitals in Wuhan. I have done volunteer work all along my trip---- I did volunteer teaching in Morocco, walked with Venezuelan refugees to Colombia, promoted feminism in China and the US!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The profound words of Romain Rolland echo within me, “Most men die at twenty or thirty; thereafter they are only reflections of themselves: for the rest of their lives they are aping themselves, repeating from day to day more and more mechanically and affectedly what they said and did.” I yearn to be an untamed soul, an idealist who defies the chains of conformity.

I love traveling because I wanna live an unpredictable life. Couchsurfing will definitely enable me to meet similar souls like myself. I want to hear more stories and share my stories with others.
