Currently juggling jobs at various universities in the East Midlands (teaching and research). I love my job and finding cool theories to discuss, but I'm also very interested in the arts.

I'm finally getting some money after being a student for 8 years and can't wait to spend it on travel !

I'm also gay so if it's a problem for you, move along! I'm actually pretty passionate about queer theory/ gender studies, and am always looking for opportunities to get involved!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting people. I tend to say no to anything longer than a week and like it when requests are within 2 to 5 days. But of course it's on a case-by-case basis! I'm also really enjoying the couchsurfing community here in general.

I haven't been travelling much so I haven't had many chances to play the part of the couchsurfer yet, hope that will change in the future :)

Update August 2017: I won't be able to host anyone until at least February 2018 due to changes in my housing situation. I'm happy to stay involved in the community though. If you're in Leicester and you want to explore the city and meet new people (especially to discover the local queer culture), I'm happy to meet for drinks!

I got back into sports and am really into swimming & yoga right now.

I've been hiking/scrambling everywhere I can in the UK and can't wait to get back to Snowdonia.
Tried kitesurfing a year ago and can't wait to try again!

Saw a Patti Smith concert in Nîmes as the first act of Neil Young and Crazy Horse; best gig of my life!

I watch all the tv shows and can probably recommend you something you'll like.

I'm really good at buying a ton of books and reading three at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting certified to be a sailing instructor: one week on a boat, 14 hours of navigation / day, stressful situations, nerve racking... I discovered my limits and what pushed me over the edge!

I also almost drove into a whale in the Mediterranean Sea (on a sailboat), but that's a story to be shared with a good meal :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I truly enjoy teaching. I did it first through sailing, but am now teaching in University (when opportunities arise) .

I guess I went into research because I couldn't see myself ever leaving university. I love to keep learning all the time and consider myself incredibly lucky to be paid to learn stuff and create new knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook for others, and can make some pretty good cocktails.
