About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello! I've worked for the past several years as a social worker in schools and really enjoy working with young people. I deeply value open and kind communication. Some of the ways I most enjoy spending my time are engaging in creative expression (contact improv, singing, writing, other types of play), cultivating a mindfulness practice, authentic relating activities, being in nature, exploring city-scapes, language learning, and reading. I've spent most of my life in New York City, and while I don't see it as my forever home, I have loved living somewhere that has so many streets and stories to stumble upon and so many worlds held close together.
I am currently taking a year away from full-time work to float, explore, and play around with big questions :)
PHILOSOPHY
Listen to others. We experience the world according to our own identity/set of experiences, and I think it's incredibly important to take time to listen to how other people's history/identity shapes how they experience reality.
//
Escuchar a otros. Experimentamos el mundo según nuestra identidad y experiencias, y creo que es sumamente importante tomar tiempo para entender como las historias/identidades de otros influyen en como experimentan la realidad.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed here and there over the years, including while traveling by bus across the US at 21, and in Ecuador and Mexico in my mid-20s. It has provided me with a beautiful sense of connection and belonging, allowing me to more richly experience the places I have visited.
As a guest, I am happy to explore the place I’m visiting independently; I am also really happy to share time with my host. (In other words: I won’t be reliant on my hosts to show me a good time, but certainly love the chance to get to know one another when it aligns with your schedule.)
Interests
Some things I like: the ocean, walking through forests, reading all sorts, looking at maps, the architecture and feeling of spaces, animals, city wandering, cruising on my bike, people watching on the subway

Teach, Learn, Share
scattered bits of knowledge that have stuck with me (compared to the many that have not), meditation practice, some Spanish language skills, how to play a few chords on the guitar, and make a nice stir fry, and ride a bike with no hands.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can prepare a vegetarian meal for you (I'm not an incredible cook, but can throw a serviceable meal together), share stories, practice language exchange :)
