About Me

CURRENT MISSION

mejorar mi español, learn how to dance

ABOUT ME

I live in Cambridge, I am an English teacher. I recently spent 15 months living in south america and am now worried I am going to forget how to speak spanish! I like meeting foreigners!

PHILOSOPHY

This is hard to sum up. Especially as I have been socialised in a climate of British cynicism. I guess I would say I try to be openminded as possible. I like arguing vociferously and passionately about perhaps trivial things, but try to keep myself aware that I may well be wrong.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a small apartment with my parents so I cannot offer you somewhere to sleep, but would like to meet for a coffee/beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Phenomenal. Whilst in Ecuador I had planned to spend two days in Cuenca. Because of couchsurfing I met some amazing people and ended up staying ten months.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: anything by woody allen, historical/political themed films are also good - I have been watching a lot of ken loach movies recently

music: salsa, latino pop (is that a genre?), andres cepeda, bob dylan, the beatles.

books: some novels but mainly non fiction. Currently reading a book about wikileaks. The last book I read was The Road to Wigan Pier. Last book I really enjoyed: Bad Girl by Mario Vargas Llosa

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of my experience living in South America (Ecuador and Argentina) was fascinating. Interpreting at a narcotics anonymous meeting in the Ecuadorean amazon, and accidentally living in a shantytown in Argentina have made for good stories

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some English, or some spanish if you happen to be learning.

I am willing, and hope to learn about almost anything, especially if it conflicts with what I already think!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Ecuador, United Kingdom
