About Me
ABOUT ME
I am an optimistic and enthusiastic traveler. I teach high school English at a completely virtual K-12 public school. (All of our students are at home on their computers.) I know that I can't solve the world's problems, but I do as much as I can on an individual level. I am a very easygoing, go-with-the-flow kind of person. I'm pretty quiet and clean, and I get along with most people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and traveling, but I live on a teacher's salary. Hopefully, in the future, I'll have room to host surfers of my own!
Interests
I love things that allow me to be creative and use my imagination. I enjoy going out dancing, as well as staying in to play board games (less Monopoly, more German-style). I read whenever I find the time, but I don't have a lot of free time as a teacher. I'm on the board for the Vermont Theatre Company and I try to find time for acting. We get hired to perform murder mystery dinner theater, which are one-night improv shows, so that fits into my schedule. Plus they are super fun!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most music, but especially love music that makes me want to dance. Reggaeton makes me move. My radio is always tuned to hip hop and R&B throwbacks.
For movies and TV, I can enjoy almost anything except for horror and suspense. I'm a total wuss that way. I gravitate towards comedy and fantasy/sci fi.
I can't read unless I have ample free time, because I devour books. A book is more likely to keep me up all night than put me to sleep. I mostly read fiction and fantasy books, especially young adult ones. They are awesome, and they keep me up-to-date with my students.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a service trip in Peru in college, which was pretty awesome. I also spent over half of my teaching career teaching in correctional facilities, which was both inspirational/heartwarming and infuriating/soul-crushing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure what I could teach over a few days. Want to learn to knit? I do love sharing and gaining knowledge, though. Hence becoming a teacher.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some laughs, hopefully. I don't drink, myself, but I hear people enjoy alcoholic gifts.
