I am a student living in Singapore, majoring in Nursing Practice. A career that is a ticket to the world. But then again, a smile will open up your world too!

Singapore? A city that don't speak English, we speak Singlish. And we are proud of it. We are a city that different nationalities and ethnicity living in tolerance and patience together. Of which are the Chinese, Malay, Indians and Eurasians. Thus, the various languages and dialects added a touch of Singapore into our common language, transforming it into something called Singlish. Want to learn the art of Singlish? Host me! HAHA.

I would not count myself as an avid traveller due to school and commitments. Despite that, I am one who seeks nature and loves to be around and interacting with people. I am too a strong believer that one should be a traveller and not a tourist.
However, traveling is now a part of my life and it has opened me up to so many precious experiences and gave me so many oportunities to meet new people from different background and cultures.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I first chanced upon this website and this idea of couchsurfing when I first planned my trip to Europe. In the beginning, I was not open to the idea of couchsurfing, as it seemed dangerous especially so for a female lone traveller. This was partly attributed to my upbringing in a conservative and modest Chinese culture. My peers and I were had never consider homestay as an alternative, thus they highly disregarded the idea and were worried when i shared with them about this idea of me couchsurfing. These were contradictory to the research I did on this website and the people.

Therefore, despite the criticisms, I decided to rely on my gut feeling and a tinge of woman instinct to try out couchsurfing. And trust me, the experience liberated me. If I did let the opinions of others and fears lead me, I never would have understood culture to a level any normal tourist would had. I made so many friends along the way, some I cliqued with and was able to learn so much from their perspectives and opinions.

From couchsurfing I learnt to embrace new ideas,
When travelling is taken to a whole new level. You see the beauty of life, The pureness of culture, the graciousness of people and the greatness of nature

May couchsurfing continue to be the platform where travellers meet everywhere and anywhere in the world. :)

3. Hiking is another love. I can't do it in Singapore though (We have no mountains, only hills).
4. Animals, especially cats and dogs. Call me a weirdo but I love studying and understanding their behaviours.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Choosing nursing as my career choice has been farmost the greatest thing I have done. And of course, second to that is adopting my pet cat.
