Chi sono

By day I run a college advising program at a charter school in Philly and LOVE it, and by night I stay busy with social activities. I moved to the Philly area for college and stayed after graduating in 2012, so I try to get to know the city better in my free time. I go to trivia, find beer gardens, attend happy hours, and am constantly searching for new places to eat. My job introduces me to a wide variety of people, which I'm thankful for because I get to know the area through them. Part of my job is to advise students (in the classroom and 1-1) and part of my job is to develop relationships with college representatives. Never a shortage of people to learn from!

I currently live with 2 roommates (best friends from college), but we're in the process of moving houses so at this time I can't offer to host anyone for a night. BUT, I would be more than happy to meet up with someone who's visiting or with someone who lives in the area and wants to grab a bite sometime.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

Reason 1: Traveling
I've always loved traveling, but last summer I got out of a long-term (4-year) relationship, leaving me with... more time to travel than ever before! (Got to look at the silver lining.) Working in a high school affords me a few school breaks and long weekends throughout the year, and I figure the best way to make use of them is to visit somewhere new as often as I can. I do a few big trips each year, but a number of local trips (within a 3-5 hour drive) more frequently. I want to do some solo traveling, but I also want to hear about these new locations from locals. Which brings me to my next motivation behind being on Couchsurfing...

Reason 2: Meeting new people!
I thrive on talking to people (hence the student advising part of my job, and the networking with college reps), so even if I'm not personally doing the traveling I would be happy to meet up with folks who are in the Philadelphia area. Whether you're just passing through or you live here too, it never hurts to make another connection. I met some of my closest friends by happenstance, and those opportunities only happen if I put myself out there. So... Couchsurfing here I come!
