To share the joy of dancing, music and travelling!

ABOUT ME
I currently spend all my time, money and energy on swing-dancing, more specifically a dance called Collegiate Shag! I travel a lot to go to festivals and often book transport to arrive a few days early to get to see the city with locals.
I recently spent 1,5 years cycling around Northern Europe with my accordion, attending festivals, sessions and camps along the way. I'm very spontaneous at times and up for anything that sounds like it could be fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people on my way around the world, and think Couchsurfing is a great way to do so.

Interests

Right now my life is all about swing-dancing and traveling. I still play music (mainly folk and old-time) and sing every now and then, but the bulk of my time goes into practicingdance, going social dancing, and travelling for dance festivals. I hope to be good enough to teach some day in the future to spread the joys of Collegiate Shag. I love to share my interests with others, and to be inspired by other people's passions.
When I was cycling around Europe, I was inspired to start preparing vegan meals out of concern for the animals and the environment. I am respectful of other food habits though, and will not bring up the topic unless people feel like discussing it. I am happy to prepare some delicious food, preferable together, and to be inspired by other cultures.
I am about to start studying psychology at university in Copenhagen, to gain a better understanding of the human mind and behaviours.
I am passionate about LGBT rights and cannot deal with people who are closed-minded, bigoted and do not respect other people's sexuality/gender expression and everyone's right to equality.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very broad taste in music, and listen to everything from musical to swing, to hard rock. I basically like anything that has a melody or is fun to go see live at a concert (I have come to quite enjoy mush-pits). I mainly play folk myself, though.
Some artist that I quite like are: Aerosmith, Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers, Die Antwoord, The McCalmans, The Dubliners, Dreamers Circus, The Streets, Queen, Alice Cooper, Harry Belafonte, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Dio, Busted, Loreena McKenitt, Celtic Woman, Hudson Taylor, Trolska Polska, Black Sabbath, The Stray Birds, The Lone Bellow, The Dizzy Birds, Bruce Ellison and His Jellodies, Meschiya Lake, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Rob Heron and the Teapad Orchestra and anything in between.
I like a lot of different movies, anything from chick flicks and action movies to fantasy and dramas.
I have mostly read fantasy books, but I am open to read basically anything. I also quite like some older books from before 1920.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1,5 years of cycling from Denmark to England and Ireland has been one of my biggest adventures so far, meeting many new people and playing a lot of music. At one point, I cycled 195 km in one go, which I am pretty proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you about Danish traditions, tell you some funny Danish (and German) phrases and sayings, and share some music with you, if possible.

I would like to share food with you at some point during our encounter, to get inspired by other cultures. Hosts and guests are also very welcome to share a bit of of wisdom with me in my travelling book, where I gather good advice from all the people that I meet along the way.

If you want, I can teach you the basics of my favourite dance, and also tell you about my adventures on the road :)
