Overview
About Me
I am a 26-year old Austrian English and Spanish teacher who lives in Freilassing, Germany right at the border with Salzburg (15 min ride). I love to travel around the world to experience and learn about different cultures, establish beautiful international friendships and create lasting memories. While being in Austria/ Germany, I live in my own international world having an a circle of friends from the US, Venezuela, Colombia, ... and pretty much every corner of the world.
Furthermore, I enjoy learning new languages. Currently I'm trying to improve my Portuguese (let's see how this is going). I am obsessed with coffee and thus know the best coffee places in my hometown and regularly meet with friends for coffee, take beautiful evening strolls in Salzburg or go hiking on one of Salzburg's beautiful mountains. I also enjoy going to poetry slams, reading books and in general checking out different events in the city.
And although this seems like a very settled down, organized lifestyle, I haven't figured out my life at all yet (as probably many of us) so who knows... I might end up at your place on a couch trying to understand life a bit better, exploring the world until I have a better plan :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My passion for traveling was sparked pretty early in my life through family vacations around the world. But the first time I really immersed myself into a culture was when I embarked on my journey of spending a year in Costa Rica at the year of 16, through a study-abroad program, during which I lived a year with a local family, went to local public high school and made friendships which last until today. Ever since I've been passionate about traveling, getting to know and learning more about different cultures, making connections around the world and celebrating diversity.
Couchsurfing turned out to present this unique opportunity of traveling not only to see attractions, sights, etc. but having meaningful connections with a country's culture and people. And this is the key. When I traveled and couchsurfed at locals' places, I did not only get to see a place, what I took home were the memories of kind people, conversations I had, insights I gained. And I'm forever grateful for whoever opened their doors for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love documentaries, and movies based on real life stories. I watch TV shows almost religiously including "How I met your mother", "Friends" (oldie but goodie), "Gilmore Girls" (come on, it was amazing apart from the additional 2 episodes, don't judge me), "Suits", "THIS IS US" (the best show ever, I cry every single time), "Jane the Virgin" (I told you, don't judge me, stop it, ok.. I know but it's good),...
After taking a looooooong break from reading as a consequence of my extensive reading period for my Masters Exams, I took up reading again and gave it a new try. I feel in love with it again. I enjoy biographies (Martin Luther King's, Michelle Obama's "Becoming", ...) but also fiction (mostly based on real life topics and events, e.g. "The Hate You Give").
