About Me

Originally from France, I just returned "home" after 7 years spent abroad in order to see if, eventually, living in France suits me. Strange that it's only after all those years, coming back to France, that I create a Couchsurfing account.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people while travelling would be the main reason. Also, I've got nothing against saving a little money here and there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music works in phases for me. For a little while now I've been in this electronic ambient phase and the main artist I would keep (among the popular ones) would be Bonobo. But I've gone through rock phases (several genres from pop to metal through Britpop or Indie) - I love The Cure, Oasis, Supertramp, Direstraits, Pink Floyd, etc. Had a long folk phase when I listened to a lot of Kings of Convenience and Thomas Dybdahl for instance.
In terms of movies I guess I like a bit of everything. I tend to hate American comedies (comedies in general). But the rest is fine. From brainy thrillers to powerful dramas. Top 5 would be: The Fountain, The 5th Element, Seven Pounds, The Machinist, Memento.
I read quite a lot but mostly thriller stories with detectives, serial killers and gripping suspense until the last page. Lately however, I've grown an interest for deeper stories with a different kind of emotional appeal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2016. Yes, something I'm actually proud of (even though something like 287,000 others had done it before me!). Walking to an altitude of 5985m asl is no easy deed! But the views up there are stunning!

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach how to play the guitar. Although for real beginners since I taught myself, I have no knowledge of music theory. I can teach how to play volleyball too.
I have more to learn however. If someone could teach me how to be alone, how to live alone, that would be great. Because I find that sometimes very challenging. More concrete, I'd like to learn how to sing well. And to snowboard to. And how to garden well, and permaculture. Lots of things.
