I'm a semi-retired IT professional who moved from Bath, UK to live in Mérida, Spain in 2015. I gave up having a car because I find I don't need one to travel about, though living in Extremadura can make that challenging at times.

I develop educational apps, more as an interest and to help my Spanish students learn English, maths and programming. I love exploring, whether by bike or hiking, with friends or by myself,. I play piano and I'm very content with my simple existence.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I travelled the world in 2007-8 and found a lot of friends via Couchsurfing, when not staying in hostels or tents. Since coming to Extremadura, I was happy to use AirBnB because it was quite cheap, but that's changed a lot recently. I'd completely forgotten about Couchsurfing and so I'm returning.

Stayed in the same place, Mérida for almost ten years, which is amazing for me at least, but it is a testament to the quality of life here.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

More for fun and sharing, I teach English, maths and programming here in Mérida, and I've developed education learning apps for private students, though I have plans to release them for wider use next year. I love showing people the nature here in Extremadura, but it's surprisingly difficult to get people out of the urban life and into the beautiful surroundings.
