Hey! I'm a 32 year old (now former) graduate student and I'm taking a few months off before starting my full time job again. I love to travel and explore new cities and places. In the last couple of years I've done Kenya, Iceland, The Netherlands, Sweden, Italy and Norway on my own. I'm looking to make the most of these last couple of weeks until I'm limited to only 14 vacation days per YEAR!!

Before school I worked for a number of years thinking of new drink ideas for an American beer company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I mentioned that I was going on this current trip (Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, and Switzerland) to a friend and they suggested I look into couchsurfing as an alternative to AirBnBs or hostels. Some of my best travel experiences I've had to date have because of encounters with locals and a willingness to try and explore new things. If couch-surfing can facilitate those sort of experiences, I'm all in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in 8th grade, my parents pulled my sister and I out of school and we traveled the world for 8 months straight, visiting 28 countries in total.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm really interested in technology, from the latest gadgets to the future of AI and automation. I also have a deep interest in politics and could offer a perspective into how exactly approximately 50% of my country voted for Donald Trump as president. (for the record, I did not!!)

Though my travel experiences have spanned 20+ years now, and thus my memory for some places has faded, I would hope I could offer a few "must see/must do' suggestions for your upcoming travels in various countries. I also have plenty of stories to share (from my friends and I sneaking into Vegas clubs using fake text messages to thwarting a drive by robbery with my parents on a deserted dirt road in Laos)
