About Me
Hey guys, just starting out on the site, hoping to meet some interesting folks both traveling and hosting. I live in Malden, about a 10 minute drive from Boston, with fairly easy subway access and quick hops to Somerville/Cambridge.
I am a journalist by trade and focus on politics, tech and some humor writing. I am a big fan of comedy (Maron, Louie CK, Tig Notaro, Hannibal Buress) and love esoteric music as much as top 40 stuff.
I have two cats, named Rafah and Kremlin. Please don't make me explain why.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
I like writers (and most people) when they are honest, funny and at least somewhat subversive:
Glenn Greenwald, George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, Noam Chomsky, Matt Taibbi, Howard Zinn, Chris Hedges, Bret Easton Ellis, Norman Finkelstein, Guy DeBord, Margaret Atwood, Emma Goldman, George Carlin, Larry David, Bill Hicks, David Foster Wallace, J.D. Salinger, J. G. Ballard, Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, Robert Fisk, Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir.
For movies, Dr. Strangelove is my all-time favorite, Malcolm X close second. The Battle of Algiers, Wet Hot American Summer, Children of Men, Apocalypse Now, as well as a pretty long list of documentaries.
TV: Despite his grotesque politics, I think our generation has a lot to learn from Ron Swanson. Mad Men, X-Files, Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, Seinfeld, The Larry Sanders Show, Breaking Bad, Party Down, etc.
Music: A smattering of the unspeakably hip and guiltiest of pleasures.
