ABOUT ME

I'm Chris, 26, live in East London, close to the clubs and bars of Dalston/Shoreditch. I work in the media- PR & publishing. I like taking odd trips around London, visiting weird and wonderful places. My friend recommended couchsurfing to me after she stayed with a music professor in New York, he was about 60 and had this incredible flat overlooking Central Park. I visited Gothenburg last autumn and had a great time staying with some brilliant couchsurfing hosts, and am visiting Stockholm next month. I hope to find someone to stay with there- couchsurfing is so much better than booking into an overpriced hotel!

Music, Movies, and Books

LOTS! Movies- all the As.... Annie Hall, Amelie, American Beauty, American Psycho. Anything woody allen related. Everything by Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry, Coen Brothers. Also dig some french black and white films, like Breathless, Jules Et Jim. Also European art cinema, such as Together. Kubrick. Pedro Almodavar.
Music- loads! radiohead, yo la tengo, the knife, concretes, jens lekman, the xx, matthew dear, gui boratto, magnetic fields, arthur russell, tv on the radio, surburban kids with biblical names, bloc party, architecture in helsinki, atlas sound, deerhunter, burial, beach house, xiu xiu, robyn, beach fossils, drums, nathan fake- anything odd and with a beat!

Trekked in north India, inter-railed round Europe, swam off Croatia, cycled around Bavaria this summer

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to say "my sleeping bag is wet" in german: "Mein schlaffsack ist nass". That's very useful for when you fall asleep into a river!
