About Me

Hi!

I'm new to couch surfing. I've heard good things, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I'm an avid hiker/backpacker/outdoors person. I love great music, and I play guitar and mandolin. I also enjoy craft beer, great food, and sports - particularly playing basketball and watching college football.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Headed to Asia! Hoping I can make my trip last as long as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but particularly reggae, rock, jazz, bluegrass, and blues. Can sometimes throw a little electronic or country into the mix.

My favorite movie is Rudy.

My favorite books are "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer and "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortensen. Most recently finished "Breakfast of Champions" by Kurt Vonnegut and "Thru: An Appalachian Trail Love Story" by Richard Judy. Currently reading "Fallen Giants: A History of Himalayan Mountaineering from the Age of Empire to the Age of Extremes" by Maurice Isserman and Stewart Weaver and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the entire Presidential Range of New Hampshire in one day. 26 miles total, arguably the hardest section of Appalachian Trail in the country.

But the best thing I've ever done is work at a sleep away camp in New Hampshire, guiding kids on hiking and backpacking trips in the White Mountains. It was amazing to guide the kids, teach them outdoors skills, see amazing places with them, and share my ultimate passion with them. Seeing them learn and grow was amazing. I learned and grew as well.
