Overview
About Me
My name is Chris :)
I am currently working as a mechanical engineer and am fiercely planning to quit and head back to school to become an environmental engineer with a focus on alternative energy and sustainability.
I am a devout weekend warrior who is trying to push their limits in rock climbing! I have recently discovered trail running and hope to run a few trail marathons a year.
I am focused on being healthy and incorporating flavors into healthy food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couch surfing because I am frugal. I am far more happy spending $300 on a week of rock climbing than I would be going on a $1500 week long cruise. I often camp on trips but longer trips I find myself desperate for a shower and a proper meal.
Also, I have found that people using this platform are often among the most genuine and interesting people I meet while traveling. Schedule permitting, I would be happy to cook a "family" breakfast or dinner while staying to have a chance to properly meet my host.
Interests
Aside from cooking, all of my interests revolve around a love of nature. Climbing is plainly the COOLEST thing you can do in nature. Trail running is a beautiful and immersive way to see nature. I am passionate and driven to be as strong and healthy as I can be.

Music, Movies, and Books
The New American Road Trip Mixtape is by far my favorite book. I wish I could meet the author over a coffee.
I listen to a wide array of music genres and consider myself to be a great road trip dj.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed Cotopaxi, which is an active volcano in Ecuador that tops out at 19,347'. It is one of the world's highest volcanoes. I have ran a marathon can tell you that climbing Cotopaxi was twice as difficult and twenty times as scary. I'd be happy to talk about it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
Depends! I can cook :) I would love to go climbing outside or in a gym with my host while I'm traveling. I'm very knowledgeable and friendly. I think I'm a good teacher but might be long winded. Not sure, people are too nice to tell sometimes.
Countries I’ve Visited
Ecuador, Nicaragua, Peru
