About Me

Hello,

My name is Eva and I am a Malaysian student studying in UC Davis and I double major in Neuroscience and minor in Psychology. I aspire to be a scientist or a researcher one day however I also plan to work with NGO's that focus on social policies - like refugees and asylum rights, and public school education reforms. My friends call me a grandma because I like nothing more than being in the kitchen baking cookies and spending quality time at home making crafts or playing the piano. However, I'm also a tech junkie (Apple fan all the way!) and an adrenaline junkie who is ironically afraid of heights.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a student who is trying to fulfill my dream of backpacking through Europe, I want to travel and experience what the beautiful continent has to offer without breaking the bank. I always worked hard to earn the money to travel by working part time while being a full-time student but I know that saving a dime or two here and there makes all the difference. Besides that, I'm a introvert by nature but I open up quickly in a small to medium size social setting. Which is why a coachsurfing environment would make a good match. I'm inspired by the stories and rave reviews I hear from my close family members and friends who not only have a pleasant stay through CS but also get to bond with the hosts and find a truly unique adventure. Besides that, I like learning new languages and understanding different cultures in-depthly. After a couple years of studying abroad, I realize how important it us to be bold and explore the world before jumping to assumptions based on stereotypes projected by the media. My father always say do what scares you. I'm taking baby steps to do what scares me most - opening up myself to others and becoming less of a grandma at home, instead, being one with the world. :)
