I have some friends who have hosted and couch-surfed and had good experiences from it.

I have a 2300 sq foot house about 5 miles south of downtown. Two roommates, one guy, one girl (Chinese national) and two dogs. I have a spare bed in an upstairs room.

I want to start traveling a little and it is always nicer to go someplace when you have someone to meet up with.
