About Me

Hi, I'm Chris, I'm from the United States, my home is Seattle, Washington. Seattle is the home of Nirvana, Starbucks, Microsoft, and lots of other cool stuff! I'm a record collector and I like to play music for people. I've been a DJ for over ten years, playing on college radio, and in front of parties with friends. I'm a bicycle rider, I adore my vintage Univega bike, and enjoy rolling out with friends around town. I absolutely live for little do-it-yourself projects with computers and gadgets. I work in development and housing, where I try to help build places for people to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is a really fun way to learn about people and places. If you're into checking out fun destinations, artwork, music, history, and cultural events, then we should meet up! As a couchsurfer and traveller, I'm looking to meet people that are also really excited about learning new stuff. I'm hoping to meet and/or stay with some folks along the way when it makes sense. If you have any suggestions or recommendations please let me know! And as a host, I'm looking to help people on their own journey by sharing time and space in my hometown.

Music, Movies, and Books

The last book I was obsessed about is The God of Endings, a fiction written by Jacqueline Holland! The novel chronicles the life of Collette LeSange, a vampire, over 150 years. The story explores themes of love, family, history, and myth as seen through Collette's eyes...must read. I don't have a goodreads profile or anything but, I enjoy reading mystery, adventure, horror, to name a few.

My favorite record of the year is "For Your Consideration" by Empress Of, she is a Honduran American singer and musician, and she plays a lot of synth pop music, she's played with Shygirl and Charli XCX and others- lots of fun. And that's just this year, but I've collected a lot of music! I believe music has the power to lift us up, to relate our inner feelings to other people. Listening to music, singing and playing along, and telling the story of music is what drives me, and traveling to other parts of the world, there's going to be a lot of people and music and opportunities to discover along the way! I hope to share some of my findings with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a summer high school study abroad in Saijo, Ehime Prefecture, Japan! I got to go to school and have family dinners and join clubs and go on trips, that really put me on to traveling.

Teach, Learn, Share

What else....in my daily life, my side hustle is djing and playing music. I've put on a number of concerts and events and fun dance parties, with bands, musicians, artists, and lots of fun entertainment. I have some experience and advice and stories to share for those who like to organize similarly. I share my experiences and souvenirs/pasalubong with friends along the way. I'd love to learn more about you and your practices and your experiences, so that I can enrich myself and understand other people a little better!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well I'm looking to meet with people, and potentially stay with hosts, but I can share a few things. If any of these things are interesting, do let me know, but if you want to meet up, I'm happy to share some local snacks or treats from my home. I'll buy you a drink/coffee/tea/pint if you want to meet up and hit some sights and shops. As a houseguest/couchsurfer, I can cook, I can keep things tidy, and I can keep things quiet. I plan on spending as much time out-and-about as possible, so I plan to give you your privacy as well! As a host, I have a small office in Seattle that I share with a teammate. The place is not quite set up for hosting people just yet.
