About Me

Hey! I'm from South London (yes - it is very important to distinguish South from North!).

I'm doing my PhD looking at urban change and gentrification in my local neighbourhood. I'm also teaching alongside my PhD - both at university and high school. I love learning and teaching - expanding my horizons and watching my students grow.

I love travelling and meeting new people - even if I'm just adventuring around London.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, make new connections and new friends and generally just to have fun!

Interests

I like music - lots of music. I'm also really interested politics, economics, current affairs.

I like to exercise too - swimming, cycling, martial arts.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music is probably hip hop but I do enjoy a lot of other genres as well!

Favourite movie? Has to be 'Paris, Texas' - and I love pretty much anything made by HBO. P.S I also love Bruce Lee!

Favourite book? Probably 'One Hundred Year of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - also 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' by Ernest Hemingway.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do a lot of charity work with young people around education and helping to bridge the attainment gap between students from different backgrounds.

I used to work at different charities which provided bikes for (1) young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, (2) people will poor mobility and other disabilities.

Also Machu Picchu.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn - I love to share the music I love with other people - it's a great way to learn about different cultures.

Teach - philosophy - have you ever thought about what makes the difference between right and wrong? Or what are the different arguments for and against democracy? Maybe you'd like to discuss human nature or the meaning of life?

How about some self-defence tips ;-)?

Share - smiles and laughs.
