Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for places to stay and people to meet while travelling through the US and Canada from Jul-Sep 2015. I'm thinking about moving to the US, so want to see as much of everyday America as possible, as well as wilderness areas.

Starting in San Francisco I'm heading up through Northern California (Eureka/Humboldt) to the Pacific Northwest (Eugene/Portland OR/Vancouver WA/Tacoma) into Canada (Vancouver/Calgary), then down through Billings, Montana and Yellowstone NP to Denver, before hopping across to Chicago, Toronto, Boston, and NYC. That's the plan, anyway--am sure it will change!

In October I'm off to the UK (London/York) and Iceland.

I walked the length of Japan in 2008, writing a haiku a day.

Can write and cook things sweet and savoury. Can teach you a bit of Gimi, a language of the Eastern Highlands of PNG--I've been culturally adopted into a family in a remote village there.
