Overview
About Me
I'm always interested to meet new people and see new places... and a pint
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be able to fully enjoy other cultures, hotel rooms do not give you that. It gives the opportunity to learn directly from locals bits and bobs. It also allows for meeting in hangouts other people who are interested in meeting other people travelling and wanting to share experience and stories. My travels so far have taught me that that is when I am happiest.
Interests
Learning, generally that is by reading and/or meeting new people. Chess, travel, sports etc. Having new experiences
Music, Movies, and Books
I like documentaries and thrillers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My major feat was the Mongol Rally which me and a mate completed in 2015. Driving across 24 countries in 6 weeks in a Peugeot 206 was the best experience of my life. 9000 miles, 16 pullovers by corrupt police, bribes, random invite to an Uzbekistan wedding, complicated language barriers, 4 flat tires, exhaust pipe in 4 pieces, steering wrack smashed (which did kill the car), and generally meeting amazing people along the way is only part of what made it so amazing. The finish line of that was Mongolia, where me and my friend got stranded for a week in the capital.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am laid back, always up for a pint or two and will (especially when on holiday) always be up for putting myself into a new situation and hopefully having a lot of fun. I can happily try to whip a meal up for someone as a thank you. Alternatively I am happy to take you out for something to eat/drink
