About Me

Talking about me is not a favourite topic. I am living in this part of the world now but I grew up on the other side of the planet. I live here like a local but I call Australia home. Yep. I am an Aussie living New England.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I am in a position to share my living space and because I find travellers to be kindred spirits. I have always thought I would like to provide travellers with a haven in their journeys. I have surfed many couches in my time as I backpacked the world for two years. In a way this is like giving back to the traveller community.

Interests

I am interested in many things. My interests are varied and wide. You give me a topic and likely I will be interested in it. I keep physically fit playing tennis and riding my bicycle. Oh... And did mention I like to travel? No? Well I love to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music and movies tastes are varied. Too numerous to even list here. Basically, if I can learn something from the book, movie, TV show or even video game I will be interested. (Yep, I said video game)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I have done? I think I have quite an amazing life. One amazing turning point in my life was when I traveled the world for two years with a backpack. I traveled to many amazing corners of the globe.
In 2024 I cycled from Cincinnati OH to Cleveland OH to Erie PA to Buffalo NY to Niagara NY and then along the Erie Canal Trail to Albany, and then up and over the mountains into Massachusetts before making it back to southern NH. I have done other long distance cycling trips including a ME-NH-VY-NY-NYC-CT-MA-RI-NH epic voyage in 2023. I love endurance cycling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had an exciting life and have many stories to tell. I am also interested in connecting with my fellow humans to listen to their life stories and continue to expand my horizons.

I have been an educator all my life so teaching and learning and sharing is what I do. Every opportunity in life provides something to teach about or to learn from.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a warm or cool house depending on the weather... A bed for the night... Some local advice... I am quite flexible and can adapt to traveler needs. My house is your house for the duration of your stay. From my years of traveling I know that most travellers appreciate a safe place to leave their bags, their bike, somewhere to cook a fresh and healthy meal and somewhere to wash and dry your clothes. Small things... But big things when you travel. (Who knows I may cook for you as well)
