About Me

***YOU SHOULD NOT BE TRAVELLING IN SPAIN RIGHT NOW***

I guess I'm just a chilled out, slightly geeky guy. I like bugs, plants, drawing, vidya, and drawing bugs and plants, and hands, and hands turning into bugs and plants.

Ever get that feeling when you hear a language you just want to know it? I get that with every language.

I try to get out to the mountains when I can, either to walk or to run, and usually end up pushing myself a little too far. I like that deep, deep hunger you get, right down in the bottom of the gut when you do some intense hike.

Don't worry though, that's only when I go alone, if we go for a hike we don't need to do that.
Come say hi and play Figueres with me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a few years experience living in other people's homes in Berlin, Andorra and Spain, and now I'd like to try at being a host.

I also want to start travelling a lot more after turning 30 and realising that our connections with people are what stick with us the longest. I want to share things with people, but most of all I just want to learn as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading in other languages. I absolutely loved La Sombra del Viento, which really stuck with me for a long time. I also enjoyed Er Ist Wieder Da, and the Spanish translations of Ready Player One and Armada by Ernest Cline. I'd like to get back to a Catalan book, Recorda que Moriras, after I finish a couple of other Spanish titles. Ask me about them when you come visit!

I also loved a small, adorable book I found in Germany called Kleine Menschen Große Fragen, where the author describes his philosophical musings based on interactions with his young daughter, and her imaginary friend Schwester Maja who lives in the mountain village Poopipääpi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Desert my entire life without a plan and somehow make it all work out, just about.

Oh and working on a small cruise ship in Scotland was pretty neato.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Perhaps some basic German, and definitely some Catalan or Spanish.

Learn: I would like to learn everything, so I'll always be interested in what people have to share, particularly anything from their own languages or cultures.

Share: Well... I actually don't know, ideas, drawings...

The one thing I ask of guests is if they can write/draw something in my little special book! In your native language, whether I understand it or not! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever I can about living in the UK, Spain, Catalunya or Andorra...

A little drawing or something artistic, I'll be glad to share.

Countries I’ve Visited
