Overview
About Me
Aussie, Enrolled Nurse by trade, travelling for the forseeable future. Originally the plan was a year; at 1 month I wanted to bail and go home. Every day after that convinced me I may never be able to go back to living to work lifestyles again.
Poly, curious about how things work, and good with my hands. Not afraid of hard work, though I'd rather chill with a good beer, a pretty view and good company.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Been travelling 5 months now after breaking off a long term relationship; trying to find me, as cliched as it seems.
So far it seems to be working. I have learnt more about myself in the last 5 months than in the 33 years I have lived.
I'm on couchsurfing as a way to find cheap (read "free") local accomodation, and meet likeminded people.
Interests
Music, Art, Cooking, People. Learning new things, seeing new places. It's a wide world out there, and I am open to getting to know it better.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a big one. The Cure, Radiohead, Everclear are the older ones, but these days I'm getting into The Strokes, The Mountain Goats and some acoustic stuff (mahogany sessions on youtube is a great source of new and old artists.)
Movies; well I haven't had much time to watch movies, but the last one I enjoyed was the new Deadpool...pretty mindless, but fun.
Books tend to be for learning new skills, but I'm certainly partial to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. American Gods is definitely worth a read, as is Reaper Man.
I use a manga reader on my phone when I can; there's some really good stuff out there, even if people think of it as "comics".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few days in to my travels, sitting at the top of the Sky Tower I caught myself saying "I could never do that" when I saw people jumping off it. Terrible start to a years travel, so despite my fear of heights I forced myself to jump off the damn thing.
The view down was worth every drop of nervous sweat and cent.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I can teach coffee skills; a bit rusty now, but I was a barista for 7 years in some pretty upmarket cafes in Perth.
I have a 8 years of nursing knowledge but let's not make this a medical consultation.
I'm good with my hands. I don't intend to be a laborer for everyone, but I certainly won't shirk my fair share, and am happy to help out.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, quick wit, friendly and/or deep conversation. Happy to drink/smoke together if that's your thing.
I'm easy going, just let me have some down time if i start looking a bit overwhelmed;)
