Hi! I'm a local musician in Santa Cruz, CA. I play and study jazz, classical, and pretty much every kind of music. Some of my favorite gigs are playing percussion for local salsa bands, and playing in the pit orchestras for musical theater. I'm also a stage actor and love to perform. I'm Chaldean Assyrian - my lineage is from Iraq. I’m from Southeast Michigan originally - I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. I studied Computer Science at the University of Michigan and have worked as a software engineer on and off since then, but have lately prioritized my career as a musician. My favorite hobby is surfing, although lately, all I do is music so I haven't had time for that :)

I can't imagine a better way to travel. I've lived in community houses my entire adult life so I love sharing my home space with others. One of the houses I lived at in Santa Cruz hosted Couchsurfers all the time. That brought about awesome experiences and relationships that never could have happened without this platform. One of the couchsurfers we hosted actually ended up staying and moving in to our house as a long term housemate!
