Hi, my name is Chris. I’m back on Couchsurfing because I find it an amazing place to meet new and interesting people!

I’m eager to learn from the people I meet and to listen to their stories and thoughts. I think it’s a valuable experience to see different perspectives from around the world.

I studied Evolutionary Biology at the University of Adelaide in my hometown and also spent a year at the University of Essex in Colchester, England. I then started working as a teacher in Nanjing, China, earned a teaching certificate online from the University of Nottingham, and am now continuing with my Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.).

I enjoy hiking, writing, reading, drawing, painting, playing the guitar (I also tried my hand at piano), and watching documentaries. I teach skateboarding, so if you’d like to learn, let me know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning, exploring, and seeing the cities I visit through the eyes of a local. And of course, meeting and befriending new and exciting people! I also enjoy hosting and showing visitors around my lovely city.

Interests

I have several interests such as science, history, art, mythology, hiking, different cultures, music, languages, psychology, philosophy, and, of course, traveling.

I’m always happy to meet up for a great chat over coffee, a drink, lunch, a random adventure, or a night out with friends in a new city or town. Spontaneous adventures are always a good idea, and that’s usually the case because I don’t really plan much ahead, so I’m usually into whatever comes up.

Music, Movies, and Books

My interest in music ranges from classical guitar to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Guns N’ Roses, all the way to contemporary music.

I enjoy watching anything from documentaries to comedies, and I’m always up for a relaxing night in or a good laugh.

I usually enjoy reading classics and non-fiction books, especially popular science, but I’m always open to recommendations for more fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences for me was hiking to the top of Mt. Olympus because I’ve been in love with Greek mythology for as long as I can remember.

I think teaching, learning and sharing what we can is the most important thing of all.
