About Me

Hey, my name is Chris - a 20-year-old boy from Germany. Together with my parents I live in Düsseldorf which is in the western part of Germany. In September I'm going to start my education to become a police officer. Before I'll start the working life I decided to see some parts of the world and that's why I'm currently travelling Australia for two month :-)
I'm an open minded, easy going and reliable guy with who you can have a lot of fun with :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all I have to mention I've been in three hostels right now and I got the feeling there are only foreign people like from Germany, Great Britain and so on. It feels like everyone does the same as me, so at one point I decided now I want to hear something new. I want to catch up Australian people or people who are living here. I want to go back with way more impressions that I think I will end my journey while staying in hostels.
It's not about the money, I would pay for a stay. I worked about one year before catching the flight as a paramedic and saved nearly everything for this trip. It was also the time I made so much new impressions that I can't get enough of it since then. Furthermore I think the time as a paramedic made me growing up from a young boy to a man really fast because of the massive amount of responsibility and the things I've seen in the accidents. I quitted this job because I didn't want to see ill people all day my life. Before starting this one I applied for the police detective studies. After about 4 hard tests I finally got a letter which said I got accepted. So my studies begin in September 2015. It was march when I got accepted. I told myself that's my last chance in live to be young enough and have enough time and money all at the same to get on this adventure. I booked my flight and right now I'm in Australia, Melbourne.
But one of the main reason was my girlfriend. She has been in Australia one year before. She told me so much about it, how great every adventure, all the people, the impressions have been so that I couldn't stand the chance not to do this either.
