About Me

I try to take everything with a good sense of humour and try not to take things too seriously.
I like to think I'm open minded, yet keep a healthy sense of skepticism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

More than anything else, I think it offers the opportunity to socialize with people you otherwise never would have, when in the comforts of your own friends, family and home.

Interests

I know it's a cliché but I genuinely do love long walks along the beach...and a nice pair of slacks, of course (since you don't know me and tone is hard to convey in text, at this time I would like to point out that this is an attempt at humour, poor as it may be).
I love nature, be it beaches or mountains, swimming or hiking, anything that feels adventurous.
Music - I'm a big fan of listening to music live, particularly at festivals and I enjoy most genres. I also play the guitar to a very average level.

Music, Movies, and Books

As I get older, I can't help but feel I'm beginning to become a bit of a music and movie snob.
Musically, I'm very influenced by my home country's local music scene. And this is where the snob part comes in...your top 40 or what's popular on the radio usually doesn't agree with me (there are exceptions). Similarly with films, something like a marvel movie struggles to keep my attention.
I'm not much of a book reader but I'm working on it. Afterall, you can't travel and not read a book, right?

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? Well, I am a teacher but you know what they say "Those who can't do teach...and those who can't teach, teach gym" (I am a PE Teacher...)
So yeah, I'm not sure I offer much in this regard, not a great endorsement for myself, is it (or maybe I'm just really modest, why not find out)?
At this point in my life I'm very dumb and ignorant but everyday I work toward rectifying that so anything you have to share on just about any subject, I love to listen. Your culture is probably a good start!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I have previously outlined, I'm pretty useless. Perhaps the most untalented member on CS. However, I am eager to please and will try assist you in any way I can. Oh, did I mention that I am average at guitar?
