About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and meet as many fellow travelers as I can

ABOUT ME

I am curious kiwi who is trying to see as much of the world as he can.
I want to be a life long learner (some teaching jargon) and the more I travel, the more I learn.

PHILOSOPHY

That traveling the world can only make you a better person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to couchsurfing by a friend, when we were traveling around Japan. I have to admit that I was dubious at first, but I was completely won over by my first couchsurfing experience.
We were fortunate enough to stay with a very interesting dude, who also accompanied us on some of our Japan travels.

Interests

Because I grew up in New Zealand I love hiking and being outdoors. Back in New Zealand I enjoyed free-diving and collecting seafood for my family.
I am passionate about wildlife and conservation.

I am an artist and philosopher :P

Music, Movies, and Books

Lord of the Rings has got to be near the top of my list, c'mon I'm a kiwi! I am quite fond of the original Planet of the Apes (starring Charlton Heston not Mark Wahlberg..)Gladiator is up there, because Maximus is a badass.
I enjoy rock/hard rock and metal from various decades. I am starting to dip my toes into "world music" and I have some sweet native american music on my ipod.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking to the top of Mt Mount Ngauruhoe in the central North Island of NZ has to be one of the coolest things I've done (that Mt was Mt Doom in LOTRs...)

Meeting the extended family of our tuk tuk driver in Siem Reap was an amazing and humbling experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

The last known Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine)died on 7 September 1936. With it the world lost a magnificant creature.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Japan, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

New Zealand, South Korea, United Kingdom
