Overview
About Me
I have served in the Canadian military for 5 years. After that, I lived abroad in Indonesia for 3 years where I hosted a tour and travel TV show--I can speak Indonesian now. I returned to Canada and worked on the oil rigs to save money for school. Recently, I've graduated from mechatronics engineering and I will be working in the tech industry in California in America.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people. I really like getting to know people from all over the world and hearing their stories. I think that it's the best part of travelling.
Interests
I like to longboard, juggle, play guitar and dance. I'm also really interested in science and enjoy nerdy conversations. Most of all, I really want to meet people and learn about the world. I really enjoy hearing about someone else's life.

Music, Movies, and Books
BOOKS:
Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
How the Brain Changes Itself by Norman Doidge
What Every Body is Saying by Joe Navarro
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a special medical chair for a man with a disability (https://chrisgravel.wixsite.com/portfolio/medical-chair).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach and learn. I think I'm a pretty good teacher for juggling and longboarding because I've taught a lot of my friends--who picked it up much more quickly than I did. It would be great to learn a skill in exchange, but I would also be happy to teach even if you didn't have a skill to teach me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides what I am able to teach you. I don't mind giving a hand for housework or fixing broken things. I think I'm pretty handy and I have some useful knowledge from my engineering degree.
Aside from that, I can give you good company and conversation. I have very broad interests and really enjoy talking about them.
