About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My Mission is to visit as many places in the world before I self destruct.

ABOUT ME

I'm fairly laid back and easy going. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to roller coasters, architecture and various construction projects. I love to travel and it's my goal to get to at many places as possible. Except I also don't want to rush things. Especially when I'm traveling out of country. Too many people rush from one tourist destination to another. When I travel I like to do my best to experience the area as if I lived there. I make plans, but I keep the plans minimal and flexible. I haven't couchsurfed before, but it seems like a perfect fit to how I want to travel. No better way to get to know an area than to live with a local.

Luckily, I got to travel quite a bit when I was in the early 20's. Here are the countries I've been to.

visited 19 countries (8.44%)

It's also a goal to get to every US state. So far I'm doing fairly well.

PHILOSOPHY

Since you can't plan life, why plan every detail of ones vacation? Sometimes you just need to live it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done a little bit of traveling over the years and it is always a joy to meet people from all over the world. The different things I've seen and cultures I've encountered have taught me more about the world (and mankind in general) than and text book ever did.

I hope to host people of various cultural backgrounds as well as surf around the work whenever I am traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've had two CouchSurfing experiences. Both were as a host. It's really awesome to be able to meet people from other areas of the world without having to travel.

It was very enjoyable playing 'tour guide' to my guests. I tried to show them around as much as I could. And when I couldn't, I did my best to print out a map of where to go and such. It's also been a really good excuse to get out and see parts of the LA area that I've never seen myself.

Can't wait to do it again.

Interests

I'm a nerd when it comes to theme parks and roller coasters. If I had the chance, I'd visit every major park in the world. But I'm also very interested in historical and architectural elements of traveling. What I like to do when I'm traveling is get a healthy balance.

I also love to snowboard. One cool experience was snowboarding in the Andes while I was in Chile.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I'll be honest, I don't read like I should. Not that I hate books. Perhaps it's my ADD. Hey look a squirrel!

Music: Gosh, I listen to so many genres. It just depends on my mood. While I am a BIG fan of Metallica, I listen to everything from pop to rock to classical. Sometimes I want music to pump me up. Other times I want something to calm me down.

Movies: Well, I tend to lean towards comedies. Usually the smart ones. But a dumb Adam Sandler movie isn't bad once and a while. Drama and action can be good too. Not the biggest fan of horror, even though Halloween is my favorite holiday. Weird, right? It's mainly because of how badly these films are executed.
