To finish my Thesis and tell a story that inspires!

ABOUT ME

My Name is Chris Lee-Gaston, I am 25 and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I am the youngest of six children; most of my siblings have their own children now... so I have a big family!

I am a full-time PHD student. When I travel, I head to europe, since my PhD is about Germany. My girlfriend lives in Germany and we commute between Germany and Australia a few times a year. I speak basic German as well as english.

I hope to spend more living in Germany in the future(I'll be sure to post when I'm living over there more permanently!). My primary interests in life are writing and traveling, although I am also interested in electronic music, politics, history and languages to name a few things

PHILOSOPHY

I would consider myself to be an optimist, with a basically agnostic religious outlook and a general belief in the benevolent nature of humankind. I place high value on individuality and creativity.

I value my independence; however I am also passionate about friends and family. I would like to think that my foremost qualities are integrity and lateral thinking.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm back home in Adelaide now, although I am working and studying pretty much constantly. However I may be able to host or certainly at the least hang out/show you around if you send me a message!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not had any experience with the official lanes of couchsurfing. I have only in the past stayed with people abroad I have met in person (in hostels, friends of friends, extended family), some of which I now count among my close friends.

Because of the positive experiences I have had through meeting people by chance in my own travels, I decided it would be worthwhile to try couchsurfing to continue to build on these experiences and meet new people across the world.

Interessi

I would say that my primary passion in life is writing; poems, articles, short stories and hopefully (eventually) a good novel!

Other than this I like cooking, gardening, messing around with music (I have a large collection of records) and generally having fun. I love to travel too. Although I come from sunny Australia I think I prefer the winter time - I really like snow...but the beach is fun too.

Musica, film e libri

My favourite author for substance is Frank Herbert, and a close second for style would be George Orwell. While reading and writing is pretty important to me, I have a wide range of musical taste as well.

I like movies, although I tend to steer clear of horror or extreme violence.

I would like to think I am reasonably well travelled for my age. I have been running with the bulls and drank beer at Oktoberfest... I've been snowboarding in Japan and sweating through the streets of singapore. I've slept under the stars in Hungary and climbed mountains in Southern France. I love to travel and have adventures!

Insegna, impara, condividi

I would say probably my most valuable skill is an extensive and intuitive knowledge of the English language. Although German is the only other language I speak with more than the base level of competency, I am pretty good at picking up basics in any language and I am very patient. This makes me a good student or sometimes teacher, for anybody who wants to impart knowledge of language or receive the same in kind (English).
