About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Really enjoying settling back into my home town, work and study after a long stretch on the road in 2013.

ABOUT ME

Tall, skinny, adaptable, exciteable. Up for just about anything.

PHILOSOPHY

You can learn from and connect with anyone you meet, if you can remain open to them as a unique individual. My only criterion for 'success' in my current travels is to stay open to every moment, be it good, bad or neutral.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm involved in education as teacher of young people, and more recenly and educational researcher and teacher of teachers. I love the never-ending adventure of teaching and learning, whether I'm inside a classroom, a pub, or climbing a mountain. CS is a great way to explore new places and meet new people to learn from!

Interests

I like experiences that stretch me, that push my boundaries. I love conversation, sitting in the sunshine in parks, festivals, live and electronic music, road-trips, hiking, dancing. Yoga and meditation are a core part of my life (althought tricky to maintain while on the road!).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the films of Wes Anderson, the books of Rushdie, Safran Foer, and Eggers; the music of M Ward, Joan as Policewoman and Coco Rosie. Amongst many, many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the Camino de Santiago in 2014. Swimming with manta rays in Bali, sleeping out on the Great Wall of China, doing a critical mass ride in NYC.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching, listening and learning are the things that drive and excite me. There's nothing I won't be excited to learn (try me), and nothing I won't be excited to help others learn. It's what I do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The present moment. It's all we've got!

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Netherlands, United Kingdom
