About Me
ABOUT ME
My Name is Chris Paulson and I am a professional with an even more professional travel bug. I Ended my career in finances a few years ago and followed my childhood dreams to Alaska. For the past six years I have been working in the tourism industry and loving life as a guide and host to people from all over the world who are in search of the same beauty I was. I have also began traveling myself and spent some amazing time in Jamaica, Hawaii, Thailand, Malaysia, and am currently making my way through Central America scuba diving and trying to learn how to play the guitar. I work and live in Alaska for six to eight months a year and try to travel the rest. I am an extremely outdoor guy. In Alaska we live for the outdoors. With some of the most beautiful country and wild life in the world, We are ALWAYS exploring. I really enjoy hosting people in the beautiful place I live for I've realized just how lucky I am every time I see that smile on the faces of people when they see it for the first time. And I have been so fortunate in my travels in the last few years to have made acquaintances, and friends from all over the world whom I hope ALL will come and visit!!
PHILOSOPHY
One foot in front of the other with a huge smile on my face and love in my heart. We are all blessed to be here, and I think most people who are on couch surfing know exactly what I mean.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be looking forward to both hosting people and being hosted by all types of wonderful people all over the world. Some things you can expect to find around Juneau is an amazing set of glaciers within hiking/kayaking/or flying to. The wild life is abundant here and the fishing is even better, if you're into it. There are amazing trail systems and recreational cabin rentals for around $25 a night. I will be doing as much stuff as possible when not working.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never used couch surfing before but I have crashed plenty of couches:) Hopefully this will lead to many more of these wonderful experiences.
Interests
I love travelig more than anything. Growing up in a small farming town in Idaho I never imagined I would ever see the world the way I do now. Nothiing pleases me more than meeting new wonderful people and moving from town to town, country to country with nothing but my back pack, my camera, and my guitar. Opening up to new people and experiancing life through their eyes has made my experiances more fullfilling than I can ever begin to describe.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read just about anything and I'd say I've watched more than my share of movies in the day. I try to spend more time outside than in front of a telli any more. But I always love a good documentary.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been blessed with so many amazing things in the past few years it's hard to think of just one. So I'll just go with the last one from last week. December 11th 2011 hike to the top of the Volcano Tajamulco, the highest point in Central America to camp out and watch the full moon, lunar eclipse, and sunrise from over 4000 meters. It was the most beautiful sight and the most amazing experiences ever. Four girls one guide and me, hours of hiking, freezing weather conditions, broken tent, broken camp stove, and one of the best treks of my life. There was never a dull moment and laughter all the way. I also love to take photos and videos almost as much as i like to show them off to people who want to see them.
