ABOUT ME
Moved from Soest to Utrecht to Rotterdam and finally took the big leap abroad; ending up in Bangkok.
I'd say I'm easygoing, open minded and although I'm quite shy, I really work hard to ensure others of a good time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted a few times in Utrecht and Rotterdam - even though my rooms were not the most comfortable crashpad, we always managed to have a great time! In 2013 enjoyed 8 months travelling around Asia, surfing as much as possible. Now I'm back, moved to Bangkok, and I'll try to pay the Asian hospitality forward - bigtime!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Really enjoyed all of my couchsurfing so far, both as a host and as a surfer. It's really great and inspiring to meet people from all around the world, each enjoying their life in their own ways.
I even met my girlfriend from Taiwan through CS (trust me, we really didn't plan for it to happen!) - now happily living together in Bangkok.
Interests
Besides spending my time online reading all kinds of blogs (on the subjects varying from travel journalism to graphic design) and browsing random Wikipedia articles; I fill up my days with getting lost in unexplored neighbourhoods, hanging out at contemporary art galleries (and if it involves free drinks, I like it even better), attending gigs and watching movies.

Music, Movies, and Books
The thing I enjoy most is contemporary art and design in all forms, from interior design to fashion and from Mark Ryden to Jeff Hamada. I like my movies visually pleasing, too; Sofia Coppola and Wes Anderson are my favorite directors. Eventually I would love to run my own art gallery.
Also, I'm a bit of a nerd, really. I worked for various tech startups, now trying to make it as an online marketeer in the hospitality industry (working at a really cool hotel app based in Bangkok)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Getting lost for hours in the jungle of Khao Yai, Thailand.
- Sleeping under the stars on a deserted island in the Philippines.
- Hitch-hiking by boat while swimming an hour off the coast in the Philippines.
