About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To find and share friendship throughout the world, to bring a kind and giving spirit wherever I go, to perfect my Spanish, and to visit every Latin American country or die trying! (For starters!)
ABOUT ME
Hello everyone, I know most don´t care, but just in case: I´m gay. I was born in and grew up in the city of Shreveport, Louisiana in the USA, the youngest of four children. I have lived in Austin, Texas for more than 21 years. Recently I left my job as a project manager for a computer company after nine years to travel through Central and South America for a year (and hopefully more!). My trip began on April 29, 2009 in Bogotá, Colombia!
PHILOSOPHY
Be more like Cristina and less like Vicky; more like Dharma, less like Greg; more like Kramer, less like George. Don't look back on your life with regret. Be bold!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted my first surfer in March 2009 and it was a great experience. I have stayed with hosts in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Spain, and Paraguay. I belong to several groups including the very active Austin group. The Austin group loves to socialize! Come visit Austin and they will show you around! A really fun experience was going on a rafting trip with the Santiago Couchsurfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's all good!
Interests
I am an avid runner and have completed two marathons and more than 10 half-marathons. I also enjoy cycling when the weather is nice in the Spring. I spend as much of my free time as possible studying Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy comedies, dramas, and documentaries and especially enjoy watching Spanish-language films for practice! I recently watched Celda 211 (Spain) and Contracorriente (Peru) and they are both great! El secreto de sus ojos is incredible. Some of my other favorites are Diarios de motocicleta, Hable con ella, María llena eres de gracia, Entre las piernas, Volver, La historia oficial, Todo sobre mi madre, Carne trémula, El laberinto del fauno, El espinazo del diablo, El minero del diablo, Y tu mamá también, and Machuca. I love all types of theatre and the related music. I take pleasure in reading fiction, especially science fiction and I also enjoy many science fiction movies and TV shows (the updated Battlestar Galactica was a favorite and I still miss Buffy The Vampire Slayer). Lately I'm into reruns of Pimp My Ride!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
