About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finding a good balance between work, research, hiking, and just hanging out.
PHILOSOPHY
I guess the core of my personal philosophy would be 'enjoy yourself.' I enjoy learning. I enjoy hanging out and talking to my friends. I enjoy weird food. I enjoy different cultures. I do these things because they make me happy and that is what life is about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm just getting settled into a new job which means that I won't be surfing much but I might be able to host people in the near future!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Most of my traveling has involved hostels, but when I was in Tahiti I had a great time surfing on David's couch. I can't wait to host my first surfers though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've skied an Olympic downhill course... not very well, but I made it down in one piece! I've spear fished in Rarotonga; I've jumped a 134 meter bungy in Queenstown, New Zealand; I've been to a Full Moon party in Koh Phangan; I've traveled Cambodia and been to Angkor Wat and the Genocide Museum.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know quite a bit about computers in general, computer programming, and computer science. My specialties are in compilesrs, programming languages, and operating systems. I also know a bit about math, enough to get a minor at least. However, I don't have any area of focus there.
I also know a bit about English literature and the English language itself. I took Latin in high school and college and still remember a bit about it as long as I have a dictionary on hand.
While traveling I hope to learn about the languages in each of the places I go. As the phrase goes, this is a global community, and I would like to be able to converse with more of it and not rely on others having to speak English for me to be able to communicate with them.
