ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Chris, a 26 year old Canadian lumberjack/tree-hugger from the wind-swept coast of Eastern Canada. I've been doing some amazing travelling in the last few years, and have discovered a whole new world that I didn't know existed.

I developed a love for the outdoors through my participation in Scouting, and I've always had the traveller's spark in me. This led me to pursue a career in forestry and environmental management, which lets me do awesome jobs, around the world, and in the great outdoors; I couldn't ask for anything better. I hope that the next few years will be as eventful as the last few, full of new people, places and experiences :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently haven't surfed myself, although I intend to now that I've travelling on the cheap in NZ. I think exchanges between people of all ages, cultures, backgrounds and experiences meeting up and learning from each other can only benefit and improve our world, one person at a time :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't been a surfer yet, although it is why I originally signed up for CS while travelling in Europe. I ended up not needing to after staying with a number of my friends I had met that year in school. After this, I wanted to host some surfers before I went surfing myself: sort of build up my CS karma before relying on others to help me out with a couch :P

Interessen

I enjoy pretty much any outdoor experience, whether its hiking, camping, biking, rock climbing, skiing, soccer, badminton or just strolling around. I use to be an avid gamer (whether halo, starcraft or a good adventure of D&D), i'm a proficient chess player, and have a secret passion for board games. I like to keep up with current events, and I love talking about pretty much anything :)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I went walking down a lava tube in Hawaii while on a field course with a few classmates. We broke off from the main group to go exploring, and were about 400m in when our flashlights died and were plunged in pitch black. We made our way out after about an hour, using the flash on our camaras to slowly light our way, one picture at a time. An experience to remember :)
