About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At the moment: to successfully travel between Argentina and Canada on two motorbikes.

ABOUT ME

We come as a couple - Chris & Chloe.
We are open minded and willing to try anything new. We enjoy being social and getting stuck into a good discussion over dinner - Good food is always quite high on our agenda.

PHILOSOPHY

If you put your mind to it, you can do absolutely anything.

Also,
Do for others what you would have done for yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We joined at the recommendation of some friends, while travelling. So, since we are still travelling, we are only looking to surf initially. Once we get back home to the UK, we look forward to hosting some surfers and getting to spend time showing others around our hometown and sharing views, ideas and fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At present, not much. We have only surfed once so far, but are looking forward to getting more into it now. Hopefully we will be able to meet some great people, and from what we've read/ heard, it's an amazing resource to connect to people of like minds.

Interests

Travel - new cultures, ways of life, people and politics. Motorbikes (the touring kind) are pretty high up there too, although we were new to it before this current motorcycling trip.
Generally being outdoors; camping, walking, kayaking, picnics, mucking about with friends, but most of all, being active somehow.
Other things: controversial politics, the Occupy Movement, architecture, football(soccer), horses, writing, photography, making a difference.

Music, Movies, and Books

Endless and eclectic.
Movies: anything from 'I am Legend', '300', or 'The Abyss', to 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', 'Love Actually' or 'In Brugge'.
Music: From Elvis and The Beatles to Scissor Sisters and Florence and the Machine. Plus a bit of classical or jazz thrown in there for easy listening.
Books: Chris prefers non-fiction, be it biographical or political, whereas Chloe prefers to escape in a good book of fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaking with humped-back whales off the south coast of Chile, Christmas day 2011

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching:
Advice on buildings, construction, problem solving, sick buildings, architecture, design, materials, specialist work on historic buildings etc... we can do that!

In terms of learning, we always want to learn, so whatever you know or want to teach, you will have an eager ear or four with us.
Specific learning:
The real World Politics, an alternative to capitalism, environmental issues, history...
