About Me

Hello!

My name is Chris, but I'm originally from Hawaii.

I'm a deep person who can easily share my philosophies about why we exist, yet down to earth enough to talk about what I think about Donald Trump's hair.

クリスと申します。ハワイ出身なんですが、3年前、英語の先生として大阪に来たんです!
お互いに日本語でも英語でも頑張りましょう!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Good question.
First of all, I moved to Japan 3 years ago in search of myself. It's been an adventure thus far!

Also, I don't just host anyone!

I hope to provide a place for those who are alike: Open-minded, willing to share culture, stories, and language. You don't have to entertain me, or anything. Just be genuine and I'll do the same!

I want to connect people and be connected. I'm still trying to find answers, but couchsurfing seems like a good way to do it! I also have been hosted and had done homestay in Austria and a few places in Japan and want to pay it forward to those in need of a place.

I do have to admit that I'm often busy, and I don't reply quickly to messages, but please feel free to contact me. Ask me about my recommendations, etc!

Interests

I love music. I play guitar and ukulele, so if we can sing together, that'd be awesome.

Sometimes I promote house music events for Ministry of Sound's Hedkandi and Sushi Records, so if there is an event soon, I'll let you know! Occasionally, I write EDM blogs, and soon, travel blogs. Here's a sample! And through my writing, I present my personality.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Alchemist - Paul Coelho
The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed over a monk's home to learn how to meditate in the country side of Ise, Mie Prefecture Japan. He turned out to be a ex-yakuza boss who went to prison for 7 years and came clean and became a monk.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Friendship, good times, adventures, a tour to my favorite areas of Osaka!
